I forgot my camera. I forgot my camera and brought two boxes of spoons but no forks. Andrea had contractions while loading industrial sized reams of parcel paper and party tables in her car, and the temperature in southern California on Friday hovered between El Azizia, Libya and Cancun. Other than those small hiccoughs, we did it. We gambled a little over 3 weeks ago that we could put together a networking event for creative women with no plan and a shoestring budget. That’s pretty much what happened.
I’ll be back tomorrow with the pictures–the pictures I didn’t take because I forgot my camera–and links to the blogs of everyone who came out to support our little party that could. I can’t wait. In the meantime, I’m on a jet plane heading towards our final vacation of summer. I can’t wait for that, either.
It was fantastic and I’m so happy I saw a tweet about it and decided to go! You and Andrea did a fabulous job and I can’t wait til the next one.
Enjoy your vacation!!
Thanks, Gena. You were a lifesaver!
Two of my friends went and said they had a great time!
Oh, yeah? Who? I wish I had known. I would have made a point to introduce myself!
Jen of Blah Blah Blahger and Laura of Hollywood Housewife. I was so jealous when they said they were going!
Sounds like a great idea and I’m glad it went well despite the little hiccups. I can’t wait to hear more details about it because little/no plan and no money sounds like my kind of event!
Yeah, I think in this economy it’s a lot of people’s kind of event. ;)
Very glad that I attended — and finally got to meet you! :-)
Have a wonderful trip…on an airplane?! That’s a pretty major vacation in my book.
Nah, it’s not. Just a quick trip, nothing special or expensive.
Woohoo! Congrats!
