Tristan (she has a new blog, check it out) is holding another session of Souvenir Foto School and, once again, I’m late to get started. You have to check in at flickr to sign up, and I’m bad about visiting sites that don’t send me emails reminding me of my obligations. Oops! Oh well, I’m still doing it and I encourage all of you to try it, too. The last session was amazing. Just crazy amounts of fun and instrumental in teaching me things about my camera and the lighting around my house. This time you don’t have to shoot every day, just once a week, so this will work better for everyone’s schedule as we proceed cautiously into the busy holiday season.
Tangent: I haven’t decided where I am going to upload my images but, like last time, I will most likely incorporate some simple fiction to keep it fun and relevant to my blog. I may do it here, or I may finally take advantage of a food section of the blog I set up last year. I’m on the fence about that section of the blog. I don’t want it to be a place to post my recipes or kitchen adventures. I’m not that type of blogger (has there ever been a recipe post on this blog that was actually about the recipe?) and inventing recipes doesn’t hold any long term interest for me. Instead, I envision it as a place to store all the articles and studies I find on health and an area where I can catalog my favorite food and cooking finds. We’ll see. Now that I wrote that out, it doesn’t seem like food photography + creative writing really fits in that area. Ugh. Back to square one.
Of course, I’m getting ahead of myself. First I need to decide what I’m going to photograph. That should be easy. <——-Sarcasm.

Lol, I like the idea of you having a ‘Jules’ version of recipes section. I like the banter and photo’s, it’s like being in a real kitchen. I can’t wait to see what you come up with ( I am hoping it includes a chimichurri recipe *hint*). Thanks for the mention and if you are wondering why no one else has left a comment (yet), it’s because you just sent over a boat load of students that are eager to follow in your pretty footsteps and cook + shoot away.
Now if I can only get my Fancy to NOT eat my props this class should be a big success:)
