Antique Drop Leaf Table

Antique Table

You know what this means.  I am one step closer to making my kitchen look like this inspiration picture.  I haven’t yet convinced The Mister that a Polo Green kitchen is the way to go, but he also didn’t like this table when we saw it weeks ago in a local antique mall.

Antique Table

He’s modern, I’m traditional; with it’s turned, slender legs and apron front, this mahogany table said a whole lotta Jules and not much The Mister.  I bought it Sunday using my super negotiation powers (on both the vendors and The Mister.)

But, The Mister is nothing if not a noble gentleman, and he admitted (without me asking him to) that it looks mighty fine underneath our kitchen window.  It will look even better with a Polo Green backdrop, fully opened and drooping under the weight of a pile of yummy food for Christmas.  I promise.

Nice! You have me drooling over Polo Green btw. I’m this {} close to getting Greg’s cooperation in repainting my living room and I can’t get it out of my head.
PS- I’ll soon take pics of my grandmother’s antique bookshelf that I finally got in my house to share with you. I love old stuff!

OK Jules, I have to admit to you this, I have one right now and my Mr. thinks I need to get rid of it b/c I hardly use it, sooo now that I see you got one I don’t want to get rid of mine. I have my kids pictures on mine now, but I do like your idea of using it around the holidays, oh what this girl to do ??? I originally bought it at an antique store to put our chess game on top with 2 chairs on each side. AND than slowly and surely I loaded it with family pics. BTW love your idea on the polo green…sounds very yummy =)

Hi! I’m Jules.

I used to be an attorney, but it made me grumpy. Now I write about life, sweet and savory, as a wife and mother to two small boys. My knowledge of dinosaurs knows no bounds.

You can read more, including the meaning behind the name Pancakes and French Fries here. And, yes, I really am phenomenally indecisive.
