An Update: 110 Days

40 Pounds, Gone

The other day I went to lunch with friends from law school. It’s been a while since I’ve seen them, and one friend gasped when she saw me. She could really see the difference, which made me very happy since up until very recently people couldn’t tell I had lost any weight at all. She admitted that since she hadn’t heard an update regarding my weight, she assumed either nothing had changed or I had stopped dieting.

40 Pounds, Gone

In fact, I have now lost a total of 40 pounds in 110 days. And while so many pictures of me in one post is probably vain and definitely unnecessary, I am so DAMN PROUD that I can post a profile picture of myself with only 1.5 chins that you are lucky I limited myself to three.

  8. Deb says:

These photos are adorable — you look genuinely happy in each of them. I’ve only been following your blog for about a week now and I love it! Love your writing style and honesty. Congrats on your recent weight loss; I know it can be a challenge. :o ) Keep on keeping on, sister!

  9. Jules says:

Amanda–I definitely have 1.5 chins. I just chose the pictures that favor them the most. :)

I’m not makeup free! I’m wearing moisturizer, concealer, sheer foundation, mascara, lip gloss, and blush. I *am* makeup free on most days, though, and I feel that is one of the reasons my skin has held out well–minus the large pores on my nose/cheeks and age spots under my lid. (I’ll be 37 in November.)

And, since I LOVE to talk about skin care and makeup, I will totally share my routine! It’s super cheap, easy, and kind of boring, but since I love to talk beauty I’m all over it. :)

  10. Cara says:

Jules-definitely you should be proud! I don’t think you’re vain…you’re very…not vain! ;) But how do you camouflage the “other” aspects of PCOS?? You can email me if you want! I so gotta try your diet! That’s awesome!

Hi! I’m Jules.

I used to be an attorney, but it made me grumpy. Now I write about life, sweet and savory, as a wife and mother to two small boys. My knowledge of dinosaurs knows no bounds.

You can read more, including the meaning behind the name Pancakes and French Fries here. And, yes, I really am phenomenally indecisive.
