Baby Hippo Love | Weigh In Week 5

WWweek5

I lost all the weight I gained last week, plus two additional ounces!  The only thing different I have done this week is to eat cottage cheese for breakfast.  I employ a fairly untraditional combination on advice from someone who, like me, doesn’t like sweet breakfasts OR cottage cheese.  Are you ready?  Cottage cheese with yellow mustard and fresh ground pepper.

Doesn’t that sound kind of gross?

Here’s the thing:  I don’t like cottage cheese, I’m not a fan of mustard, and I HATE pepper.  But, somehow, it all works out and I like it enough to have it almost daily for breakfast.  I’ve tried it without pepper (because I really do not like pepper) and oddly enough, it doesn’t taste good without it!

I know most people mix fruit in their cottage cheese, but I have terrible reflux/heartburn, and I really can’t eat most fruits or bread products without paying dearly for the indiscretion.  This, I know, will be a thing of the past once I lose weight.  In the very near future I will be able to eat and drink all the fruit my vegetable eating self desires.  Until then, bring on the mustard and pepper.

My intention for next week is to incorporate more exercise into my routine.  I won’t do anything fancy–I’ll just stroll around my perfectly flat neighborhood and listen to my iPod.  How is everyone else’s diet going?

  2. Way to go!!!!!
I got on the scale this morning and had lost as well and feel so good about it. And no…I don’t think that sounds gross….I love salty/peppery things and it sounds YUMMO to this one!

Taryn–I think I mix in about 1-2 teaspoons? The cottage cheese is a buttery-spring yellow, but lighter than my blog. :) As for pepper, since I hate it, I only put maybe 3 or so twists of the pepper mill. Plenty for me!

CherryTreeLane–Yahoo! I love salty/sour (green olives = nirvana) so I thought I would like it, too. The pepper TOTALLY surprised me!

sucky, but thanks for asking. I’m back up to my original starting weight. Not that I got much below that…but I’m so glad for you that you are doing well!! My cleanse/detox set me back. :(

Wow! I am so excited for you! I feel happy and jealous when I read about your weight loss. I followed Weight Watchers for a year between kid #2 and kid #3 and I lost all my baby weight and more. While it wasn’t easy, it was a lot easier when I went to the gym 4 times/week and I had 32 points/day because I was breastfeeding. I still exercise 3 – 5 times a week, but I just can’t stick to 22 points/day. I have 18 pounds to lose to get to my goal. I’m kind of stuck and just looking for a little motivation.

I’m odd. I like to mix sweet potatoes into my cottage cheese. I also eat it on pasta.

ugh – I’m stuck for the last 2 weeks but I added more exercise so I’m hoping for results. I’m trying the “Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred” and it’s killing me :) . It’s only 20 minutes a day but have I been sore. Today was day 6 and it was the first time I got all the way through it without a few 3 second breaks. I read about it on some blogs and it was available “on demand” on my cable so I figured I’d give it a shot. Congratulations on your progress!
