I updated the website again.
The design is pretty much the same, although I’ve added a new category for the Unread Library on the left in the Topics section. There are also new buttons for you to email me or follow me on Twitter and Facebook. There were also a few stylistic issues that I wanted fixed (the header had a weird border we couldn’t get rid of), but mainly this update involved more back-end work. I was using Thesis as my WordPress theme. I can now tell you that Thesis is dead to me. There were a host of problems, none of which I could fix easily.
I knew Nicole was too busy (and not even in town) to help me out with this one. So, I put out a call on Twitter for coding help and Lauren from Restored 316 Designs tweeted back, stating “I can recode and I hate Thesis.”
Sold.
And that was it. In less than a week I had an entirely new back-end (Genesis, in case you were wondering), plus some cute little buttons–all within my budget. If you are looking for someone to design your blog, definitely pay her a visit. She was a dream to work with, and you know how impossible I can be.

The site looks great–love the buttons. Thanks for the info on Genesis as well. I was toying with the idea of Thesis but had just seen Chris Brogan touting Genesis. Seeing it in action so beautifully here is inspiring.

From what I understand, it’s the only theme Lauren works with now…or at least her very favorite. I know The Nester uses it, also.

Yes…Genesis is the ONLY thing I work with now! You can check the showcase over at Studiopress’ site for lots of inspiration and the endless opportunities!
