Don’t mind me. I’m just marveling at the fact I can see the surface of my desk for the first time in months. I currently have on view my books on grammar, three journals, the ProBlogger book, some constructive criticism I received regarding my blog, a picture of the boys, prayer cards, a Christmas present I have yet to give my best friend, many elephants, posters I still need to put up, and a magic wand. The magic wand I picked up somewhere else (kitchen?) on my way to check email. It just kind of stayed there.
Oh! Check it out:
While we were in Lake Tahoe, the Mister took advantage of the peace and quiet to put up board and batten all around the room. Don’t worry, it’s only primered right now and the pictures and mirror he just put back in place after he finished. I’m not sure where it will all end up eventually. We still need to paint it and the walls (I picked a color!) before the big reveal. I know the pictures aren’t that great and don’t really show much, but these angles are the only way I could take pictures of the room while simultaneously hiding the piles of books and laundry that are positioned in haphazard piles around the house. In other words, I was trying to evidence of real living. Judging from the toys (two dinosaurs) and flip-flops on the floor I neglected to kick out of the way, I could do a better job. I didn’t even know they were there until I was looking at these pictures!
I can’t wait to see what color you picked!
I also might steal your lamp.
Your blog is the second in two days that has featured DIY board and batten. I love it! I can’t wait to see it painted.
Maybe I can convince my mister to take on this project. But he would just say we have to finish the other 1000 things on my list first.
Really? What is the other one? I want to see!
I’m excited to see more! love the desk shot.
My favorite accessory is the superman cape on the chair. :-)
Love it! What are your favorite grammar books?
I want a husband that can do that!
Aggg! Wracking my brain trying to remeber what blog I saw it on. I don’t think it was one of my “regulars”. It was a nursey and the walls above were painted a chocolate brown. I’ll see if I can find it for you tomorrow.
On second thought I guess I’ll find it for you tonight: http://mckevitts.blogspot.com/2010/07/board-and-batten-nursery.html
Turns out it was on of my regulars after all.
It looks wonderful! Can’t wait to see it all finished.
It looks great!
And isn’t it funny the way you see things in pictures that you somehow missed in the moment? Happened to me just this week…I had a bit of a mishap at the zoo… in front of the giraffes. When I had collected myself, I took one last photo … as if to say I totally meant to do that. It was only when I got home and viewed the pictures on my computer that I realized the giraffe was totally laughing at me. Rude.
Snap Stephanie! I was also very curious about your grammarian views Jules :)
*see, you’re not the only who cares about grammar! ahahahaha
Your house is always so pretty and tidy AND you have kids! I wanna be like you one day! hahaha I love your house, your decor style. It is so real, so possible! love it love it love it!

My husband just heard someone say “Jules” and “always tidy” in the same sentence and died from laughter.
Favorite grammar books coming!
Lucky you! I can’t wait for more photo’s, so exciting!
