What? It could happen.
Martha Stewart paints are finally available and in stock at The Home Depot! The only reason I didn’t stage a sit-in at HD when I heard they were discontinuing Ralph Lauren Paints was because they replaced Ralph with Martha. I find her colors more modern than other (non-designery) paints, and you can’t beat the product names. In the picture above you see “Monk’s Cloth” in the very top left and bottom. “Snail’s Shell” is the greige in the middle of the three-paint column next to the fireplace. I don’t think I will go with either of those, but they sure are pretty.
Don’t feel like leaving your home? I hear you. And I have more breaking news, too.
Camila from High-Heeled Foot in the Door (the one who tipped me off to the Martha paints) is giving away two gallons of paint from Olympic. I know a few of you are on the same hunt I am for the perfect paint. Perhaps you’ll find something you like from Olympic? Even better if you get to sample it for free, yes? You can enter the giveaway by visiting High-Heeled Foot in the Door.
p.s. Nope, I didn’t break my blog fast. Camila sent an email to her blogging friends to let us know of her give-away. :)

yay! firstie! sorry, do we do that here? :) we are about to embark on painting the dining room and kitchen. the dining room has had 3 huge paint splotches on the walls since last May. we thought that would make us hurry up and pick the color but we’ve been living with the “samples” on the walls for almost a year. it is a good conversation starter for guests but the grandparents are complaining that all the cute pics of the baby eating at the table have ugly pumpkin and yellow splotches in the background. this is a gift! thanks for the link!

Yay, that’s such good news…they used to carry Martha Stewart paint at Lowe’s. So I had all these great paint chips of hers, picked a few out to take to Lowe’s…when lo and behold what did I find out? They don’t carry her anymore! So I’m so glad to hear that we get access to her paint again! I love how she does her paint chips…with coordinating palettes :)!

That second one from the bottom looks really good with the fireplace. However, I was just over at flickr and saw the other paint colors and I think I like that palette better. It seems warmer.
This is good news about the paint. I still need to paint my bathroom and have paint swatches all over the walls. Maybe this will help me make up my mind.

All right, I’m going to leap in a make a suggestion-what about the purple family? It would compliment/contrast with the yellow and orange tones in the fireplace and I think it would coordinate well with your green couch.
I don’t know the MS colors to suggest, but I made this from memory for you-http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/1124983/Jules_LR
From L to R-wall, stone, couch color(?), stone, neutral
Did you already nix purple?

Becky, you are a sweetheart! And, believe it or not, we tried the purple family. I had the exact same thought as you…but it didn’t work. We also tried an inky blue, if you can believe it.
The palette is really pretty, though. Oh! Check on flickr…I uploaded my latest contenders.

I love Martha Stewart’s paints! Right now, the accent wall in my bedroom is Martha’s “Vintage Map”. Delicious.

Did you see Martha’s cleaning supplies at HD too? LOVE.
I’m really digging the top color that’s closest to the brick in the photo…
Jules says
I did! Tempting.
If you go to my flickr page, you will see that I have since tried even more colors! I’m leaning towards caramel apple and scarecrow. Both are Benjamin Moore.
