I’m so tired I am stupid enough to post a horrible picture of me. Mikey and I are both exhausted in this picture. We both have dark circles and puffy eyes. Not long after this picture he burst into tears, but not before thoroughly enjoying his birthday party on Sunday.
There is a season in my life that starts every year in the Spring. After Easter, I truly begin to sweat and tremble at what lies before me.
It begins with Mother’s Day.
Approximately 5 days after that is my sister in law’s birthday.
Five days after that is my dad’s birthday.
Five days after that is Mikey’s birthday.
Five days after that is my brother’s birthday.
Five, sometimes 10, days after that is Father’s Day.
Five, sometimes 10, days after that is July 4th.
Three days after that is my niece’s birthday.
Eleven days after that is my mom’s birthday.
In between all that are graduations, end of school year parties, and more birthdays outside the immediate family.
We are half way through the insanity, thank goodness. At least the 5 day celebrations are almost drawing to a close, which helps.
So, humor me. What is your busy season?

Ours is in December, fortunately it’s confined to one month. But, oh, what a month. Aside from all the Christmas shopping and wrapping, house (inside and out) decorating and holiday parties, our little ones have birthdays in December. Francesca will be 3 December 14th and Ross will be 6 December 24th. Yes, that’s right, Christmas Eve.
We can combine both birthdays for a family party, but now that Ross is older there’s the kid party too. Once Francesca gets older – tack on kid party for her too. I am so so tired every December. New Years Eve is usually spent low key, at home with the kids, eating snacks and cocktail shrimp and my hubby makes a nice dinner. I have no energy left for anything else!
Good for you that you are halfway through! Hang in there.

I love that picture!! June and July are the busiest for us too and I just get more and more lame as each event passes. I start off strong in the beginning of June and completely phone-in the celebrating by the time we get to August. I totally feel your pain.
Happy birthday, Mikey! Love the Star Wars party :)

Beutiful, beautiful pic of you!! And I understand. I am in my busy season and completely feel like I could fall asleep at any given moment of standing still.

You look so beautiful! I hate it when people tell me I look good in a picture that I think I look bad in, but you really really really are so pretty :) I wish I had eyebrows. /Cry.
My busy season? Honestly, I’m ashamed to say I have never really had one. I am so lazy, and the husband and I are SOOO boring and home bound! But, if I had to pick one, I suppose it starts in April with Baseball season, and ends in December when College Football ends. Hopefully next year we won’t be so dumb and buy all these damn season tickets. I’m hoping for a busy October, November and December FILLED with crafty projects and a nicely decorated home for the holidays! Can’t wait to get my guy into a Halloween costume :)

Glad to hear I am not the only one with a busy season. I think it’s funny people are commenting that I look nice in the picture (thank you!). All my friends have been calling and emailing along the lines of, “Good God! You look like the walking dead in that picture.” Friends: you can always count on telling it to you straight. :)

Please kill me with Nico’s tongue and look on the last photo….Hang in there:)

My busy season is right now – it’s a dead rush right up till the last day of school (“I thought you said you didn’t have any more projects due?????”) and then we have about 24 hours rest before summer conditioning for soccer starts for BOTH kids. Do you think the coaches could possibility have the boys & girls training at the SAME time. Um, no, I guess not. And then there’s the humongous business project looming over my head right now – it’s exciting but daunting. And, of course, all the yardwork to be done. And there’s vacation in two weeks. The list goes on ….. yeah, it’s busy here too. ;-)
As for the picture, it’s simply gorgeous! Now we know where your little munchkins get their beautiful skin coloring and deep brown eyes.

Right now is busy for me. But it starts in January and winds down right about now. In addition to all of the holidays and birthdays, June is graduation month. Oh boy! My husband is a minister, and June is also the month of weddings…we’re headed to Denver this weekend for one. And then it all settles down and becomes a lazy hazy summer…I always love that!
And…are you kidding?!?!?! You look stunning in that photo! If your friends who see you every day think it makes you look like the walking dead, then I don’t think I could handle a “good” picture of you.

You look heaps better than I would with a schedule like that but I feel your pain. My family obligations run pretty much the same. Birthdays, Anniversarys, baseball games, all happen in the month of May for me. It is exhausting and I dread it every year. But we muddle through, all with a smile on our face, frosting in our hair and corns on our feet from gift shopping.
Chin up.
And the tongue hanging out on your son’s pal is simply precious! Great photo!
Jules says
LiLi–That little boy with the tongue out is Nico! We cut his hair really short so no one recognizes him. :)
Julie–Would you believe that Mikey has gray/green eyes? They don’t photograph well, but in real life they are gorgeous.
I am sitting here dreading the appointment I have today in Newport Beach with a dietitian. I don’t even want to think of the plate of enchiladas I have to make for my brother’s birthday tomorrow and the cakes I promised I would make for some family birthdays this weekend on The Mister’s side.

Super Cuteious, all of you. Perfect perfect brows! Wished I looked this good this tired.
It’s fun to see which kid looks like which parent and it’s very obvious here. The cakes look fun!

I see no puffy eyes or dark circles, silly girl. Only a pretty mommy with shiny black hair [frizz free], a perfect complexion and eyebrows perfect enough for me to consider donating a kidney just so I could have them!
And one cute little rascal.
