So, today is day 28 of the eating plan I started when a reader here contacted me and gave me the what’s what. The plan was to eat this way for 30 days and evaluate and tweak as necessary. I was getting quite a few emails and comments about what I was eating, so I thought I would share it here. I only have a few pictures of my lunches (you’ll just have to trust me that I only ate soup the week or so that I had a cold) mostly because I feel like taking pictures of what I eat is naval gazing to the extreme. Does anyone care? I can’t believe they do, so I’ve been bad about documenting what I eat in pictures.
{Tuna, tomatoes, sweet baby lettuces, dressing}
{Leftover roasted chicken cooked in broth and tomatoes, spinach added off the heat}
{Leftover Pot Roast and Carrots, spinach added off the heat}
I have 2 more days eating this way, and I have to say it’s been easy and enjoyable. On Saturday I will mix things up and change the plan considerably. We’ll see how that goes.

yumm… i love pictures of yummy food. why do you think the food network does so well? ;o) can’t wait to hear about your new plan ~ you’re doing a great job…

Sounds like a great plan and very similar to a lap band plan with the protein and veggies being a priority. I find that when I mix things up now and again I lose more, as long as I don’t do it too often or too extreme. BEst of luck and let us know what the new plan is even if it doesn’t work.

Wow – that seems like a diet that would require extreme willpower and dedication. Kudo’s to you! You and I both had the same amount of weight to lose about a month or so ago, but you have skipped way ahead of me and I suck! :)
I’ve tried weight watchers – they give me an inch and I take a mile. I’ve been researching and researching, and I think I’m going to try that “Let’s do Lunch” thing. Unlimited fruit, vegetables, beans and corn… you eat your lean protein meal at lunch time, the rest of the day is filled with fruits, veggies and whatever recipes involve beans and corn. I actually found out about the diet while researching South Beach.
I, for one, LOVE pictures of food, lol. People just talk about what they are eating, and sometimes it can sound gross if you don’t get to see the picture along with it.
Interested to see how you will be altering your plan :)

Hello Pancake. (I couldn’t find your name anywhere) I am a lurker who loves your blog. I found it on some long list of Really Cool Blogs You Must Check Out somewhere else here in blogland, and if it wasn’t for your cool name, then I might have passed on by, but I came and I read and I laughed and I loved it. So I kept coming back and now I think I should say hello. Hello! I don’t want to sound corny (is that word used anymore?) but I do think you are great. We probably won’t ever meet in real life, but I sure am glad to have met you here.
I love this diet plan. I have been on it (not this exact one) for 2 months now (give or take a few bumps and bruises from falling off the wagon a day or two) but for the most part I like it and it works. So good for you on your day 28. FYI, I really like your photos, so whether it be food photos or what, I like them. It gives me a visual, but then I guess that’s the point to photographs. :0)
I would like to know what font you use for your title ‘Pancakes and French Fries.” It is beautiful. I am doing invites for a wedding and think this font would be perfect.
Anyway, now that I have written an essay, I will go now. But I will be back. And I like comments, so don’t take them away. Please.

Love the photos – keep it up, please. :-)
I’m waiting for a copy of the new S. Beach diet book to hit my library (I have a copy on order there). Your way of eating sounds very similar to the first 2 weeks of S. Beach. I’m going to struggle with the plan though: I’m not a big vegetable eater. BUT that’s one of the reasons I’m going to do it – I NEED to eat more vegetables (ok, honestly, I need to eat ANY vegetables). So …my biggest question is ….are you hungry eating this way?
PS: I love the bowls – so very bright & cheery!

Thanks, everyone. :) My way of eating (WOE) will change considerably after Saturday. I didn’t say how in my post because I hadn’t yet decided as I was writing it. I will let you all know what I am doing on Friday is you are interested.
Julie, I was never once physically hungry. The first few days I had false hunger at night, simply because my body missed all the snacking. That disappeared in a few days. After that, never once have I been truly hungry. If I was hungry, it was usually because I waited too long to eat or, like mentioned about, false hunger having more to do with something emotional.

You MUST keep the pics coming. They are gorgeous and you know I love to know what you are eating. For me things that sustain life go as follows: air, water and what Jules is eating. You always motivate me to want to be healthier. Keep up the great work!

Hello Jules…so happy for you, as I have told you before, the protein thing just works, it just keeps you sooo happy for soooo long in that tummy :) it does me. I know what you mean about the eating lots of meats, have you tried adding some fish??
That’s what I do since I don’t eat red meats, so it is fish, chicken, tofu, turkey. Than I do over again. don’t worry we all cheat or whatever while doing this. Best of luck and keep it up….EH

P.S. watch the dressings….try and stick to just some good olive oil and vinegar.
