Today my back hurts because I weigh just short of 9,000 pounds. I’m joining Weight Watchers tonight with the hope that the 3875th time is the charm. I have many weight related goals. Here they are.
- To wear J. Crew in real life, and not just in my mind.
- To lose my c-section belly, or at least flatten it a bit.
- Okay, fine. Something about recapturing health and vitality yada, yada, yada.
- Burn my sleep apnea mask.
- Go two or more months without a weight related post. {Like Oprah, why am I still talking about my weight?!}
- Lose the chins.
- Post a picture of myself without having to artfully crop said chin[s].
I may start another blog detailing the weight of the world on my ass shoulders so that I don’t bore all the skinny bitches minxes reading my little blog. My friend, Tristan (all 17 pounds of her,) wants to read about it here so she doesn’t have to add another blog to her reader, but I’m not convinced boring you to tears about the nuances of carrots and point values is the way to go.
{UPDATE–I called the Mister’s HR department at work, and they have a program where they will pay for 50% of the cost of 13 weeks at Weight Watchers, including registration. Of course, since he might get laid off on Friday, I took advantage of the offer. I have to wait 5-7 days to receive my vouchers. Hopefully I can start by Thursday of next week!}

Best of luck to you. I signed up for weight watchers years ago, when I was feeling along the same lines. I lost over 20+ in one semester (I was in college then), upped my exercise level, and most importantly, learned that I was eating for an army of 8, not a college co-ed.
You can do it!

i keep trying to write a comment where i tell you to leave it on this blog in a way that doesn’t sound really weird but it’s just not coming together properly. anyways, keep the weight updates here so i can leave you oboxiously perky cheerleading comments (think along the lines of “you go girl!”) on the daily

I will be with you at WW in spirit tonight and should you ever want to feel bad about your weight via a video game, the wii fit program is for you.
After taking simple data it stated that my physical age was 48 and I won’t begin to tell you about my BMI. If it wasnt so expensive ( and a gift) I would have chucked it through the sliding glass door.
Best dishes (as PD would say) and I think I am going to go to the store to get some 1 point WW fudge pops. They are soooo good.

My MIL lost over 80lbs. on WW, so did my mom. They both said it was the easiest diet to follow because you don’t have to eat special stuff.
As for losing the C-Section tummy … ha! I weigh less now than I did pre-pregnancy and I still have a pooch. That could be because I keep using it as a shelf for my laptop though.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
PS- Kara’s right, WW fudge pops are yummy!

Kara–I can TOTALLY see you chucking that Wii through the slider. Too funny!
Thanks for all the good wishes!

Keep the posts here. I love reading them and I’m in the same boat! my motto is c-section= great baby, apena mask=deep sleep, no j-crew=not a catalog cutout and so forth. We love you for you. And as my husband says if I comment about our weight gain, “gotta love me”!

best of luck! and i agree with the others – keep it here! we like you for you.

Wii Fit is wrong about the weight. Hubby is 6’3″ and it says that he should be 177lb!! No way. He & I will always be overweight on Wii Fit. I’ve been having fun exercising with We Cheer http://www.wecheergame.com/
Feel free to post your exercise here too: http://www.theswitchboards.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30011&st=0&start=0

Good Luck! I always have trouble starting a diet, but by far Weight Watchers has been my favorite diet! I just had a baby a month ago, and I’m going to use Weight Watchers to lose the “baby fat” and all that other pre-baby fat I had accumulated!

Cherry Tree Lane–did you see it on Tristan’s blog (Blah, Blah, Blahg?) She sent it to me today to make me smile and I promptly stole it knowing full well she used it today. :)

OH yes!! This is exciting! I am not making a separate blog for my fattyness… just adding it to my regular blog… So far I’m already 8 lbs down from last week! exciting!!!

8 lbs? ! Now you have to share your secret.
Brook says
hahahah no soda, no fast food, trying to make better choices to what I eat, and portion control… I have a lot of pounds to lose so 8 is just a chip off the old lard block. Also I started hitting the gym… My biggest push was when my fat jeans turned into my regular jeans and then turned into my TIGHT jeans! Never a good sign!

Jules-I started a weight loss blog too. It’s very boring. But it was helping-until the feeding frenzy yesterday. :( I got all stressed out and just started EATing. No good. I have 25 lbs to go still. I was below my pp weight, that’s the sick part. When Haley was 1 I was only 7 lbs above my goal weight…then I weaned her. :( Gained 25 lbs. Yuck. Good luck. I hear WW is a really good way to go! :)

You should totally post it here. I always learn so much from you and you inspire me to do healthy things for myself. Need I remind you about the green smoothies? (Which by the way I will be starting again soon for the spring season. ) The weitght issue is something that every woman struggles with and can relate to. I say post away about it.
