This will be me tomorrow, around 10am. I am having an endoscopy to make sure my ulcers have healed during the past year. I still have heartburn pretty bad, mainly when I eat starches like bread and pasta, so I doubt the erosions in my esophagus are much better. Let this be a lesson to pregnant women out there suffering from heartburn: DO NOT IGNORE IT. I did for most of my pregnancy with Nicholas (I had terrible heartburn from about 6 weeks on) and now have the singed and cancer prone G.I. tract to show for it. Besides, is this how you want to spend every August/September?
Oh God! Been there. I don’t envy you one bit. I hope the ulcer at least looks better. Mine is kind of like a sleeping beast that I tiptoe around constantly. I totally feel your pain. At least you get some nice drugs during the procedure.
Can you get any ice cream out of this : )
Seriously, good thoughts!
Always, Becky. There isn’t much in life that ice cream doesn’t remedy. :)
Eeeks! Good luck – hope everything goes well!
Oooooo…FUN. Well at least it’s not the -oscopy I’ve had the pleasure of having. Mine was a sigmoidoscopy and even after 3 enemas, I’m pretty sure there was poop involved.
Feel better?
Hang in there girl, I’ll be sending good, positive vibes your way today.
XOXO-K
Good luck Jules….I will be thinking of you!
Good luck!!!
Good luck!!!
Good luck!!!
Thanks everyone! Just sitting here waiting to go to the hospital. Tick-tock, tick-tock…
And Jen, yes, I do feel much better! If I was allowed to drink anything I would have sprayed it across my computer monitor. :)
I had that procedure done and the one that involves ‘the other end’ all in the same appointment!
Piece..of…cake!
Once they give you the iv/meds you are out like a light.
Didnt even know what they did to me!
Good luck on a positive outcome.
I hope your doctor visit went well.
Oh, Jules! I hope it ends quickly for you and that the ulcers have healed.
Ouch! no nice at all! Tons of lucks and I’m agree with the ice cream :)
Thank you, everyone! My results are in: No ulcers, just erosions in my esophagus! Yahoo!
Great outcome! Take the rest of the day off!
Congratulations on great results! Big hugs and cheers to you!
I’ve been there too. I was miserable during my second pregnancy, if I wasn’t throwing up I was burping. Water gave me heartburn, what a horrible memory. I’ve had many a colonoscpy and endoscopy. Good news is that my esphogus(sp)is fine. In my case, I keep having those tests I mentioned and several other tests three or four times a year. You see, I am a cancer survivor. My cancer has nothing to do with heartburn, or anything else that I know of…..I just out of the blue had kidney cancer. Thank God, I’m alive and those nasty tests have saved my life. I say to everyone I know, listen to your body, believe it or not, it speaks to you. I also recommend that nasty or not, have tests regularly, you know pap smears, mamograms, breasts exams, etc.
I pray everything goes well and like someone else said, at least you get good drugs out of it enjoy the ice cream.
Now, I have to go and finish getting ready for Ike. I live in Houston, 60 miles from landfall. Ike is passing over soon, yuck!!
Did I not check in on you? My dearest dear, dear pen pal! Bad Tristan! I hope all went well, my heart and thoughts are always wishing you good things….:)
