I made a huge smoothie for breakfast this morning. Mikey took one sip and said, “Mmmmmm, mama! This one is good. I’m sorry I didn’t like the parsley.” I have to say, he was right. It was a good smoothie. I made so much (added a wee bit too much pineapple) that I had some left over in the fridge. It sat all day in there, so when I took it out tonight after dinner it was ice cold…and…delicious. I’ve lost my mind. Blended spinach actually tasted delicious. The Mister grabbed a pear from my basket to add to his dinner salad and I about stabbed his hand with my fork.
“Don’t eat too many pears. They’re for my smoothies!” Really, I snarled.
Pack your bags, kids. The end of the world is fast approaching: I would have preferred more of my smoothie to ice cream.
Pineapple Green Smoothie
- 3/4 small bag of pineapple
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups spinach
- 1-2 TB Agave or honey
Blend and enjoy. Really. I’m not kidding.

I make mine in the evening, put it in the fridge for breakfast. When I get up I pour it into a glass and put it in the freezer so when I leave for work it’s super cold and delish. It makes enough for at least two so there is enough for the next day breakfast also if I don’t have it after dinner. Time saving, good for you and yummy, what more could a girl want? I think tonight I will try pineapple. Sounds really good!

Ladies… I am concerned yet intrigued. Are we using frozen spinach, fresh spinach, leaf, chopped. What?!?!?! Spill it
Jules says
Brie, Fresh spinach! O_O You should be concerned, we’ve lost our minds…but I swear after only a few short days they really start to taste good.

What if you don’t like pinapple? It is VERY pinappley?
Jules says
Sarah–
I don’t think it is, but I love pineapple in smoothies. I would just put in your favorite fruit! :)
Kerrie says
I was iffy about pineapple in a smoothie when you first mentioned it, but this latest blog entry has me convinced I need to try it.

I did it, I did it! and…. I liked it! I was thinking of getting an ice cube tray and making some “cubes” to add to future shakes with the leftovers. I like them thick and really cold.
Ok, now I am going to sit here and await the energy that is due to arrive any second :)
Jules says
Yeah! See? Not as bad as you would think, huh? I”m still surprised I like them. :)
