Thanks for throwing my blog out there. :) If you check out my sidebar for links there are lots of other plus-size fashion blogs, and I also have the I Love Fatshion Network, which as a page devoted to them so feel free to browse around!

Sometimes I dress outrageously, but I am a dress girl, so I'm always wearing nice dresses and hunting down great finds for plus-size women, so hopefully you'll enjoy!

Oh Jules, if you do get a few that you like, could you post them? I am an average looking twenty-something and I read a few fashion blogs but, yes, they don't really do it for me.

And who knew that this would get people so heated? (By the way, whenever you post outfits I totally envy them! You do bold color well.)

My goodness, this is heating up. Why does this sort of thing get people so weird and hot and bothered? I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs (complete with a double wide bottom half) but who gives a shit? Everybody's got her own issues with her own body and everybody has to learn to put on her big-girl panties and work around them.

Jules, you do a great job with that. No, you probably shouldn't look to my closet for inspiration regarding shape and cut -- won't hurt my feelings. I probably won't learn much from you on that score either (though I do admire your use of color -- I tend to dress like a Greek widow who works in accounting). I quit keeping up with the fashion blog world because it made me feel completely impoverished -- this is sort of the same thing, really. Things that don't apply to your life can be interesting, but probably won't give you a lot of practical advice.

What's the big freaking deal? Keep on keeping on, Jules.

Thank you Esther, but I feel there have been a few things taken out of context and the lawyer in mean isn't going to just zip it and move on. It's like you dumped chum to the sharks! :)

I also read blogs about families, recipes, crafts, etc. I can't do half the things these women do, and I don't care. I love looking into their lives and I love learning new things. I said I deleted most of my fashion blogs, and that I did so because they don't reflect my lifestyle or body and don't celebrate what's great about MY OWN body. Or, at least, that's what I wanted to say. I wrote the post quickly and perhaps should have elaborated more. I really didn't think it would be a big deal, so I'm sorry for taking on the subject lightly.

Let's be clear: I WILL NEVER BE TALL. I WILL NEVER HAVE TOOTHPICK LEGS. Do I care? No. But why should I read a blog that features thigh-high minis? Or stiletto heels and conceptual outfits? Because if I can't wear what she wears I can at least learn about color and composition? I can do that anywhere. Why not go to a blog where I can get all that and a link to something I would buy? I have a finite period of time during the day in which to read blogs. I want it to be worth my while. Trust me, given endless amount of time, I could read blogs forever. As it is, I spend too much time reading them for The Mister's taste.

There are some plus sized blogs people referred me to that I won't read because the style of blogger is not my own. I am a mom who dresses modestly. I see nothing wrong in trying to find the same (plus sized, regular sized, bean pole sized) in a fashion blogger. If I am looking for inspiration to use in my own closet, what is so wrong about looking for someone whose taste reflects my own? Or shops at places I can shop, too?

As for people no longer reading me because they are tired of hearing me whine about my weight? Well, I don't whine about my weight, so I wouldn't be sorry to see people who are misinterpreting my posts go the way of the Dodo.

I don't want anyone to think that I am sitting here looking at blogs eating Ding Dongs and feeling sorry for myself. I'm not. I happen to think I am pretty awesome. Fallible and apparently unable to communicate a simple thought in less than 500 words, but awesome nonetheless. :)

Honestly, I have no use or time for fashion blogs that cater to women who are 20 pounds underweight, even if that body shape currently fits the norm in the fashion industry. I have limited blog reading time and I'm not going to waste it looking at photos of super young girls who weigh 100 pounds.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to have blogs, more power to them. I just don't want to spend time thinking "that'd be so cute, if I lost 20 pounds." That ain't gonna happen. Not because I can't. Not because I don't know how to drink water and eat healthy and blah blah blah. But because I choose not to spend all my time concentrating on that. I'm a healthy, normal weight and my husband loves me and I rock my bod pretty well and, well, that's it.

I would, though, love more blogs to focus on what you say, Jules, cute style for normal women. I love Frocks & Frou Frou. Love her. Here's to finding more of the same from this thread.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Jules, as a reader of many, many blogs I do not read them because of the size, shape or whatever of the girls. I read them because I enjoy seeing their sweet families, recipes, crafts, outings, etc.....it saddens me to read this blog today because in fact I love coming here to your site and see you and your sweet fam. I will put the shoe on the other foot. I always wish when I am finishing reading your blog that I could write like you and many times that makes me so , so jealous but still I read each and every day you blog but I also realize that maybe I do have some other talents that you might not have. So I am skinny too...so who cares??? this is not about this body of ours this is about who you are as a person inside. Now how would you feel if I did not come here because I am tired of listening you whine about your weight??? would this be fair? I do not think so...I think you are an incredible smart beautiful girl and I wish you would stop thinking otherwise.
hugs !!!

I am 5'2" and weigh... too much:) I've finally learned what will work on me for the most part, but I still mess up once in a while. I try not to read any style blogs because they usually feature clothes that don't look good on me and sometimes don't look good on the people writing the blogs. I never, ever leave negative comments, though. I haven't checked the ones in this comment section yet. I'm going to. Maybe I'll see some great stuff that will change my attitude. :)

I totally know where you're coming from... At a size 18, I am constantly frustrated by blogs from smaller women that feature clothes that I love but are not offered in anything near my size.

Booo.
